Project: New Carquinez Bridge
Location: Bay Area, California
Completion Date: Summer, 2003
Owner: California Department of Transportation
Contractor: FCI Constructors, Inc.
Description of Work: This three span, 3,465 foot long structure will be the
nation's first new major suspension bridge to be built in 35 years. At bid time, it was
the largest project ever awarded by Caltrans. The bridge features two 400-foot high
concrete towers, supported by driven piles. Each tower has 12 foundation piles, 3 meters
in diameter by 51 meters long, with an additional 42-meter rock socket.

Project: Maumee River Crossing
Location: Toledo, Ohio
Completion Date: Summer, 2006
Contractor: Fru-Con Construction (Ballwin, Missouri)
Description of Work: This project involves the construction of new pre-cast
concrete box girders with cable-stayed river span, adding new ramps on the structure to
Front and Greenbelt, grading, pavement, drainage, adding new retaining walls, and Widening
the I-280 bridge over Greenbelt.
